ABOUT

Hello, lovelies! My name is Lourdes Arguello. I am a wife of over 25 years and a mother of four. Growing up in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, I was lucky to be surrounded by the beautiful nature, bright colors, and vibrant culture of Central America. I credit these roots for beginning to mold my eye for design.

In my early twenties, I moved to Miami, FL where I met and married my soulmate. He is half Cuban, half Nicaraguan, so I quickly became immersed in these colorful cultures as well. His Cuban grandmother got me into design; together we made decorative pillows, painted walls, and gardened all during my first year of marriage in Miami. I was my own wedding planner, and she was my partner in crime in that adventure too.

I have been blessed to live in Honduras, Boston, Miami, California, and Washington, DC. All of these places have shaped and trained my eye for style, enriching me in more ways than I can count.

I have a BA in Education from Amherst, MA; A Masters in Matrimony and Family from the University of Navarre, Pamplona, Spain; and an Image Consultant degree from Style Innovators, Chicago, IL.

How I Got Started in Design:

My initial formal background was in early education, and the curiosity and creativity of the children I taught really captured my attention. I was intrigued by why they acted in certain ways, which led me to study Marriage and Family for my Masters. Parallel to that, I was always inspired by patterns, colors, and textures—I loved to go in my closet and create new outfits with old pieces. I avidly rearranged my furniture; with every move, I thrived in the challenge of making a beautiful space regardless of size or budget.

When I learned of the role of a stylist, I discovered a natural intersection among my past experiences. From my education background, I loved teaching and inspiring others. From studying Marriage and Family Psychology, I understood the vulnerability of working with clients regarding style and image; I would be inside their closets—the last space most of us would share with an acquaintance. Finally, all the social and school events I had thrown made hosting an easy-second nature for me.

Style encompasses much more than clothes. I see an intricate flow and connection among one’s style, home, and how we host and share with our loved ones. The way one walks, talks, stands, and exudes confidence all create style. I am learning and evolving more everyday.

I would be flattered and honored if you would let me be part of your style journey!

Xo,

-Lourdes
